The WTFC is a community/school partnership coalition funded by the South Dakota Department of Health - Tobacco Control Program. The coalition provides tobacco prevention educaton to the Watertown community. We meet the 1st Wednesday of the month at noon at the Human Service Agency.

Our goal is to be part of the emotional healing of children affected by illness and disease, by providing them with a happy and safe place to heal. We work closely with the child and family to design and redecorate a personalized bedroom or space within the family's home. The family will fill this space with items that are meaningful to the child and in a style they choose; this can include items that can be brought to hospitals or treatment facilities if needed. Our goal is provide "My Happy Place" for each child involved.

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are working to break the chain of addiction through building healthy relationships, advocacy, and providing essentail unmet basic needs for those struggling with addiction in Watertown. The unmet needs of people leaving jail provided by BSBB are: transportation, mentoring - while in jail and after release, medication, transitional housing - for up to 6 months, healthy social and recreational opportunities, Bible study and small group exercises, and weekly Saturday breakfast served 10am - 12noon at the old Grant School (612 3rd St NE).
