DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Perform evaluations and on-going counseling for both families and children and performs case management with children identified as severely and emotionally disturbed. Duties will also include providing drug, alcohol, and gambling clinical services to clients on an outpatient basis. Specific duties include providing drug, alcohol, and gambling evaluations, developing individual treatment plans, providing individual counseling, group counseling, multi-family group sessions, family conferences, and educational presentations to clients and community groups. These services may be provided locally at the Watertown location or at various locations throughout the six county catchment areas if feasible.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Medical Personnel of Serenity Hills are responsible for all medical aspects of the Detoxification day-to-day operation; and the health and medical aspects of the Halfway House Program as indicated. They serve a primary role in the care of clients in detoxification; and a secondary role in the care of clients in the Halfway House Program.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Required to sit for long periods of time. Infrequent light physical effort required lifting up to 10 lbs. occasionally and 25 lbs. rarely. The employee frequently is required to sit and reach with hands and arms. Employee may be required to work extended periods of time at a computer monitor. Must be able to drive vehicle occasionally.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: Primary responsibilities are providing drug, alcohol, and gambling clinical services to clients on an outpatient basis. Specific duties include providing drug, alcohol, and gambling evaluations, developing individual treatment plans, providing individual counseling, group counseling, multi-family group sessions, family conferences, and educational presentations to clients and community groups. These services also may be provided locally at the Watertown location or at various locations throughout the six county catchment area if feasible.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Certification by South Dakota Counselor Certification Board is preferred while eligibility for certification in South Dakota is required. Bachelor?s Degree with emphasis in Human Services/Drug and Alcohol field. Demonstration of strong communication skills, including assertiveness, empathy, and crisis management. Possession of a valid South Dakota Driver?s License. Responsible for providing own work related transportation.
